Natural air fragrance of the real flowers could provide the best aromatherapy benefits, I discovered.
On my way back from Badrinath, I took a diversion at Govind Ghat to a foot trail going up to the famous Valley of Flowers discovered by Frank Smyth, a British botanist and mountaineer on his way back from the successful expedition of Mt. Kamet in 1931. Later he wrote a book by the name Valley of Flowers, which made the place famous worldwide.
I for myself couldn't believe my eyes as I reached the valley after continuously walking for 13 km the first day and the rest 4, the second.
There were flowers and flowers all around and nothing else but flowers wherever your eyes could go up to. It was not only a treat for the eyes but for the nose as well.

A riot of colors around and a session of the most rare aromatherapy benefits on earth!
I started losing my left-brain then and there and the only thing that I was left in my mind with was the spread of colorful flowers and the strong air fragrance that I kept breathing deeper and deeper into my lungs.
I had forgotten the world!
Might be - as the local legend goes there - it was in such a forgotten state of mind that Joan Margarate Legge, a botanist deputed by Botanical gardens of Edinburgh slipped from a rocky slope and lost her life in 1939. In 1943 her elder sister went there and build her memorial exactly at the place where she had lost her life below the slope. The lines engraved in the marble slab still feel like voicing their words in the serene calmness of the valley aloud:

I shall lift my eyes up to Himalayas from whence cometh my strength.
Legend says you stay in the valley for more than two and a half hours and you will have forgotten your name.
And it's true when the flowers are at their full bloom throughout the valley and you are somewhere deep inside into it! The strong air fragrance over there, overrides all the petty worldly issues pushing them out of your mind, at least for the duration of your stay in the valley.
It's a very cold valley situated at a height of 14,000 feet above the sea level. Although the width is only around 2 km but the length never seems to be ending as you play the game of life stepping further and further along it for as long as 10 beautiful kilometers of heavenly walk!

The authorities did not allow overnight stay in the valley otherwise I would never have come back for as many days as I could have stayed there for.
As I left the valley for my overnight stay at Ghangaria, I felt I was carrying the fragrance of the most rare flowers on earth filled in my lungs along!
Aromatherapy does work. It worked wonders for me in my travel through the valley.
